When we finally moved to An Taigh Dubh, and into the caravan. I did so alone as my husband was away with work.
It was Winter time, the 20th Dec to be exact. And while we had worked away until late many times in the run up, nothing prepares you for the black of forest dark. The first few nights were certainly a test of character.
But with their familiar hoots and twit ta woos, the Tawny Owls taught me there is nothing to fear. Rather that there is comfort in the dark blanket of night.
This new life came at the cost of the old one. Stepping out of the comfort zone meant that I was exposed, seen.
But I have come to realize that if I hadnβt embraced the darkness, my art would never have found the light.
