As a birthday present I treated myself to a reading from the divine Uma Ruby Tarot.

During Spirit: The High Priestess II amongst many gems, I discovered that I align with asteroid Pallas Athene.

Pallas represents the wisdom of the female spirit, borne from the forehead of Zeus, and symbolized by the owl and the snake. Athene was a powerful totem of independence and wisdom.

Ancient mythology says she was borne fully fledged dressed in battle armour.

She did not ally herself with any man, instead was a powerful and warrior like, aiding men of good will with her counsel, prized for its intellect.

Pallas Athene represents ageless wisdom combined with creative intelligence. Sitting alongside the arts and medicinal homeopathy.

Mythology writes that it was Athena who transformed Medusa into the Gorgon as punishment for her transgression after Medusa was raped by Poseidon.

But I prefer to think on Nikita Gill’s revisionism. Where Athena did not do so to punish Medusa rather to protect her from future assaults. Equipping her with the power to turn men to stone.

This is my version of Pallas Athena and Medusa; for the monster resides in us all.
